about
The New Policeman is a tune popular in sessions and recorded by many and the second tune Earls Chair was composed by flute and whistle player Patrick “Pakie” Moloney, the uncle of Mike Rafferty (1926-2011),while resting on the Earl’s chair on his way from Derryoober East to Derryoober West, Lough Derg in Co. Galway.

Brilliant tunes, played brilliantly. Great recording too - well worth listening with headphones to take advantage of the stereo fun.

Such a brilliant album. Sparkling, crystal clear play and the musicians are obviously in a perfect musical relationship with each other. Their efforts are pure pleasure to listen to. Buy it! monty1957

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
